Callie Alexiadis

PhD Student

Callie Alexiadis is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Laboratory for Rehabilitation Neuroscience. Callie has been working in the lab since 2022, volunteering as an undergraduate and writing her senior thesis on brain activation during working memory tasks in older adults. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology here at the University of Florida in May 2024.

Research Interests
Callie’s research focuses on functional MRI, specifically how brain activation scales with force level across different effectors and age groups. She is currently working on a collaborative study that compares brain activation during a shoulder force task between patients with rotator cuff tears and controls. Additionally, she is interested in how the use of different advanced MRI sequences and processing methods changes how force scaling appears in the brain.
