Félix-Antoine Savoie

Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Office: 172-K Florida Gym, PO Box 118205
Gainesville, FL 32611   Email: fasavoie@gmail.com

Bio
In 2012, Félix completed his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), making him only the second current LRN member to get a degree from an institution located more than 48° north of equator. Armed with his B.Sc., Félix went south, to the University of Sherbrooke, where he studied the effects of hydration on muscle performance and developed novel hyperhydration techniques on way to a master’s degree in exercise physiology. Following his M.Sc., Félix completely lost (or found?) his way and undertook at doctorate in motor learning and control at the same institution. His Ph.D. thesis revolved around elucidating the neural dynamics involved in error processing and movement preparation using electroencephalography (EEG). In April 2020, when given the opportunity to learn about magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and movement disorders as a postdoctoral fellow at the LRN, Félix packed his favorite pair of shorts and headed for the sunshine state. He has been a postdoc at the LRN since October of 2020.

Research Interests
Félix’s current research interests revolve around using neuroimaging and neurostimulation tools to study movement disorders and hopefully help the people afflicted with them.
